A FAIRY DREAM

OPM Singers join together with members of the Adderbury Ensemble, four soloists and children from three local schools in a performance of Harvey Brough's magical reworking of music from Purcell's Fairy Queen. This was commissioned by Sing Up, the government funded initiative to bring singing to all Primary Schools. The rest of the programme includes well known Baroque favourites by Bach, Handel and Vivaldi.

THE GLORIES OF VENICE

2010 is the 400th anniversary of the first performance of Monterverdi's Vespers. This programme will include a number of the best moments from this masterwork as well as other music by Monteverdi and some of his Venetian contemporaries. A group of instrumentalists will help add colour to this occasion.

MASS

The choir will join forces with wind and brass players from Oxford Sinfonia in two wonderful settings of the Mass. Stravinsky's Neo-Classical masterpiece will be followed by a noble setting by Bruckner, his Mass in E minor.

At a suitably early time and in a wonderful setting, the choir presents a programme of music for the Christmas season. There will be opportunities to join in the singing of the great Christmas hymns as well as a wide array of music from the choir that should be enjoyed by all members of the family.
